Our Specialized Services
Quality Care Counseling offers specialized treatments including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR):
DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT, is a skills-based treatment program that teaches participants how to navigate life without relying on maladaptive behaviors such as self-harm or substance abuse. Although DBT was originally developed for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, it is now successfully used to treat many other conditions, including anxiety and depression. By learning skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, clients can effectively manage life’s stressors and challenges and concurrently minimize the use of damaging coping strategies. DBT is the gold standard of research-based treatment models, and its effectiveness has consistently been demonstrated in numerous randomized controlled trials.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is designed to treat trauma and post-traumatic stress disorders that don’t respond to traditional talk therapy. The goal of EMDR is to help clients “re-process” past experiences that are causing distress or contributing to problematic behaviors in the present. Through this carefully guided technique, individuals can move beyond emotionally charged past trauma and its associated effects to live healthier, more productive lives.
